Burns Harbor
Clerk-Treasurer Jane Jordan has been elected to the Executive Board of the
Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers.
The League serves
to assist and represent clerks, clerk-treasurers and controllers from
Indiana’s 567 cities and towns. Jordan will serve on the Board in the
position of Secretary/Treasurer. “I am extremely honored for this
opportunity to represent Burns Harbor and Porter County,” Jordan said. “I am
excited to work with my fellow colleagues and state officials throughout
Indiana to enhance the work we do for the constituents we serve and make a
difference in our communities.”
The League held its
election of officers during its 82nd Annual Conference and State Board of
Accounts School in South Bend June 10 to 14. Approximately 500 officials
from around the State, including Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch, were in
attendance, where they were briefed on new legislation, uniform compliance
guidelines, internal control procedures, special investigation reporting and
criteria, public access laws, public retention laws, and tax increment
financing matters. The Conference and SBoA School centers on the various
roles a clerk-treasurer plays in the management of their town services,
economic development, government efficiency, and community leadership.
