Chesterton High grad Vanessa Krause helped lead the University of Michigan womenís swimming and diving team to an 11th place finish in the NCAA Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis.

The Wolverines amassed 159 points, the programís highest point total since 1999.

After a whirlwind day last Friday that saw her go from outside the top 16 to scoring in the 100-yard butterfly, Krause was at it again on Saturday, shaving more than a second off her previous school record to qualify for the consolation final in the 200-yard butterfly (1:54.60).

She finished 15th overall (1:55.57), becoming the first Michigan swimmer to score in both butterfly events at the NCAA Championships since 2008.
