The Chesterton baseball team continues to struggle offensively as they
managed just one hit in dropping an 8-0 Duneland Athletic Conference
decision to Valparaiso on Wednesday.
The Vikings scored two runs in the second inning and added three more runs,
thanks in part to two Trojan errors, in the third inning and were never
Chesterton loaded the bases in the bottom of the third inning, but couldn’t
capitalize and the Vikings scored two more runs in the top of the fourth.
Andrew Ralph managed the Trojans only hit of the game in the sixth inning.
Bobby Humphreys took the loss for Chesterton after giving up five runs,
three unearned, over the first three innings before giving way to Aery Pratt
and Mike Albano.
The Trojans return to the field on Friday when they travel to Portage for a
4:30 p.m. start.
