Trojan Volleyball sweeps Hanover Central

The Chesterton volleyball team stepped out of DAC play and picked up a 25-18, 25-22, 25-18 victory over Hanover Central on Wednesday night.

Offensively, Taylor Bowser led the Trojans with 10 kills, while Meghan Gaffigan added eight kills. Caroline Parks tallied six kills with McKenna Guernsey adding three kills.

Vivi Smilgius dished out 16 assists and Maggie Vrahoretis added five helpers.

On the service line, Lorann Lombardini, Parks and Ariel Rohe each had three aces. Gaffigan and Vrahoretis tallied two aces each.

Defensively, Lombardini had a team-best 20 digs and Rohe added 10 digs. Bowser recorded eight digs with Guernsey and Vrahoretis adding five digs each.

At the net, Parks had three block kills, while Bowser, Rohe, Smilgius and Wagner each had one block kill.

The Trojans return to the court tonight when they travel to Crown Point. The JV game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.
