Trojan Volleyball goes 1-2 at Elkhart Memorial

The Chesterton volleyball team finished 1-2 on the day at the Charger Invitational at Elkhart Memorial on Saturday.

The Trojans lost their opener to the host Chargers 21-25, 25-18, 15-8 before beating Ft. Wayne Carroll 25-17, 25-17 to finish pool play.

In the finals, Chesterton fell 25-21, 25-11 to Fairfield.

Offensively, the Trojans were led by Jessica Urycki with 20 kills, while Emily Marcus added 11 kills and Sammi Ostrom had 10 kills. Brittany Milzarek contributed eight kills with Aubrey Nagdeman tallying seven kills.

Kennedy Baltus dished out a team-best 27 assists with Shelby Snyder adding 18 helpers.

Defensively, Jordyn Moleski had 28 digs with Marcus recording 17 digs. Sara Tarnowski had 14 digs with Snyder getting 11 digs. Nagdeman had 10 digs on the day.

At the net, Ostrom had a team best three block kills as Marcus and Urycki each had two block kills.

On the service line, Nagdeman had six aces with Marcus and Tarnowski each recording three aces.
