The Chesterton volleyball team halted its three-match losing streak and
picked up its first Duneland Athletic Conference victory with a 17-25,
25-16, 26-24, 25-17 win at Crown Point Thursday night.
Offensively, the Trojans were led by Jennifer Williams and Katie Urycki with
nine kills each. Ali Ostrom tallied eight kills and Shelby Ruffner had five
kills.
Ariane Mahaffey dished out a team-best 23 assists.
Defensively, Sara Tarnowski had 15 digs with Urycki adding 12. Williams and
Mahaffey each recorded five digs in the win.
At the net, Ostrom and Williams each had seven block kills, with Ruffner
adding three and Urycki tallying two in the victory.

The Chesterton junior varsity fell to 0-3 in Duneland Athletic Conference
play with a 25-13, 25-24 loss at Crown Point.
Offensively, Aubrey Nagdeman led the Trojans with four kills, while Shelby
Snyder recorded three kills. Whitney Schreiber, Lia Lombardini, Abby Moon
and Samantha Stueber all had two kills.
Snyder and Nagdeman each dished out six assists.
Defensively, Lombardini and Ashley Hecimovich each had six digs with Snyder
tallying five digs. Nagdeman and Allie Sink each recorded four digs.

The Chesterton freshman outlasted Crown Point in a 25-11, 12-25, 15-14
victory on Thursday.
Offensively, Olivia Sech had a team-best four kills and Taylor Eaton had
three kills. Taylor Rodriguez also tallied a kill.
Caitlyn Toth dished out a team-high six assists.
Defensively, Elena Azcona had 13 digs and Katelyn Woods added 12 digs. Toth
and Alaina Kogler had nine digs, while Sech added eight digs.
Sech also had three block kills in the victory.
