Trojan Volleyball falls in 3 games to Portage

The Chesterton volleyball team dropped a 25-17, 25-22, 25-20 Duneland Athletic Conference decision to Portage on Thursday.

Offensively, Taylor Bowser led the Trojans with 10 kills, while Ginger Hedrick tallied five kills. Paige Seely contributed three kills.

Olivia Smilgius and Ella Whitmore each dished out a team-best nine assists.

Defensively, Lorann Lombardini had seven digs and Sammy Devereaux tallie six digs. Bowser contributed three digs in the loss.

On the service line, Maggie Vrahoretis led the way with two aces, while Caroline Parks and Hedrick each tallied two blocks at the net.

The Trojans return to the court on Saturday when they travel to Elkhart Memorial for the Charger Invitational beginning at 9 a.m.
