Lake Central pounded out 15 hits and took advantage of four Chesterton errors as the Indians snapped the Trojans’ win streak at seven with a 12-3 Duneland Athletic Conference victory on Tuesday.

After Lake Central opened the scoring with a solo run in the top of the second, the Trojans answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning.

Three consecutive singles to start the frame led to Mallory McKee scoring on a throwing error. Megan Matheny also scored during the rally on a bases-loaded walk.

Lake Central took little time in responding with three runs in the top of the third. Four more runs for the Indians in the fourth and seventh innings set the final score.

Sydney Cooley led the Chesterton offense with two hits.
