Trojan Girls Tennis beats Andrean 3-0

The Chesterton girls tennis team didnít need long to score three team points and thatís a good thing.

The Trojans picked up a 3-0 victory over Andrean on Wednesday night when rain interrupted play.

In singles, CHS got a quick win from Hannah Nabhan over Maddie Jurgensen 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 just ahead of Olivia Veslingís 6-1, 6-3 win over Jessica Mirabella at No. 2.

In doubles, Rachel Fredenburg and Hailee Ellenwood secured the third point with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Kathy Mulroe and Sydney McLauren at No. 2.

Paige Donovan held a 6-4, 5-3 lead at No. 3 singles and Eliza Tumbas and Ashley Roof trailed Sara Sim and Nicky Mohan 4-6, 7-5 (2-1) when the rain came.

The Trojans return to the court tonight when they host Valparaiso beginning at 4:15 p.m.

Doubles -- 1. Sara Sim/Nicky Mohan (A) led Eliza Tumbas/Ashley Roof 4-6, 7-5 (2-1); 2. Rachel Fredenburg/Hailee Ellenwodd (C) def. Kathy Mulroe/Sydney McLauren 6-2, 6-4.

Record: Chesterton 5-2.

JV: Chesterton wins 6-0.
