The Chesterton girls basketball team struggled putting the ball in the
basket on Friday night and dropped its Duneland Athletic Conference opener
to LaPorte 45-30.
The Trojans hit on just 12-of-41 shots (29 percent) and 4-of-14 (28 percent)
from the foul line.
Caroline Puntillo led CHS with 17 points, while Kassidy Scott scored seven
points. Sarah Richards added four points with Kelsey Conway tallying two
points.
LaPorte hit on 18-of-29 shot from the foul line in the victory.

The Chesterton girls junior varsity scored 10 points in the fourth quarter
to pick up a come-from-behing 16-15 victory over LaPorte.
The Trojans trailed 14-6 entering the final frame, but got five points from
Hailee Norton in the final stanza. Norton led all scorers with nine points.
Jordan Wadding
scored four points with Natalie Petro added two and Kayla Malackowski
tallying one point.
