Trojan Girls beat Bishop Noll 51-38

The Chesterton girls basketball team built a 29-19 halftime lead and held on for a 51-38 non-conference victory at Bishop Noll on Wednesday night.

Courtney Krol (3 assists, 6 steals) led the Trojan offense with 14 points, while Marney Sisson (6 rebounds) added 12 points.

Rounding out the scoring for Chesterton were Sarah Dzierba (9 points), Ashley Craycraft (8 points), Maddie Scott (4 points) and Hailey Vale (4 points).

The Trojans hit on 20-of-47 shots (43 percent) from the field and held Bishop Noll to 13-of-40 (33 percent) from the floor.

Vale led the Trojans on the backboards with seven rebounds, while Dzierba dished out 3 assists.

The Trojans return to the court on Friday when they travel to Crown Point for a girl/boy doubleheader. The girls game is slated for a 5:30 p.m. start with the boys game to follow.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 49, Bishop Noll 22

The Chesterton junior varsity had little trouble in picking up a 49-22 victory over Bishop Noll on Wednesday night.

Offensively, Nalani Malackowski led the Trojans with 14 points, while Emma Schmidt added 13 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Sydney Balas (7 points), Kaitlyn Carr (5 points), Tori Gerhardt (4 points), Hollie Skoczek (3 points) and Sydni Vale (2 points).
