Trojan Girls Basketball falls at Andrean

The Chesterton girls basketball team couldn’t make enough baskets in the second half and fell in its regular season finale at Andrean Friday night 51-40.

The Trojans built an 18-15 halftime lead, but were outscored 14-6 in the third quarter and never recovered.

Hailey Vale led CHS offensively with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Shannon McCoy added nine points and Chelsea Jackson tallied eight points.

The Trojans struggled from the field as they hit just 14-of-43 (33 percent) from the floor and were 0-for-11 from 3-point range.

Chesterton returns to the court on Tuesday night when they host Kankakee Valley at 5:30 p.m. in the opening game of the IHSAA Sectional.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 52, Andrean 19

The Chesterton junior varsity wrapped up an 18-4 season with a 52-19 victory in its season finale at Andrean on Friday night

Evelynn Pabon led the Trojan offense with 13 points, while Annika Babcock and Molly Slatcoff each added 10 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Ashley Craycraft (6 points), Marney Sisson (4 points), Sydney Balas (3 points), Haley Moore (2 points), Nikki Arndt (2 points) and Hollie Sckoczek (2 points).
