Trojan Boys Tennis blanks Hobart

The Chesterton boys tennis team blanked Hobart 5-0 on Monday night.

In singles, Johny Mario beat Sam Wagman 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 as Dylan Jayasuriya beat Jacob Tosch 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2.

Chris Fouts completed the singles sweep with a win over Joey Tosch 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.

In doubles, Trey Moffett and Zac Nabhan beat Sharp Marshall and Marc Lind 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 with James Jewison and Tom McGue beating Jake Mummy and Robbie Winuewski 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2.

The Trojan will finish the regular season on Tuesday at Andrean and open IHSAA Sectional play on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Portage against the host Indians.

Record -- Chesterton 9-5.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 5, Hobart 0

In singles, Chesterton got win from Alec Emmons (No. 1), Colten Carter (No. 2) and Fred Owens (No. 3) en route to a 5-0 victory over Hobart.

In doubles, the teams of Ryan Harmon-Tanner Fowler and Cameron Cook-Conner Archbald both won in straight sets.
