Trojan Boys Tennis beats Valparaiso 4-1

Long-time tennis coach Tom Bour hit a milestone on Thursday.

The Chesterton boys tennis team beat Valparaiso 4-1 on Thursday earning Bour his 300th career victory. Bour has served as head coach for boys and girls tennis at Michigan City Marquette and Chesterton during his career.

In singles, Luke Liapes beat Calvin McMurtrey 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1, while Fabio Haiduc beat Will Behrend 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2. The singles sweep finished with a 6-2, 6-2 win for Troy Feller over Erik Kallen at No. 3.

The lone doubles winner for the Trojans was the duo of Nick Hanson and Corydon Gaff over Matt Levenda and Jake Nightingale 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1.
