The Chesterton boys soccer team took control early and never let Highland
back in the game as they pitched a 3-0 shutout on Saturday.
“This was a nice win coming off a tough game on Wednesday,” Chesteton coach
Jamie Sensibaugh said. “It was nice to have the opportunity to play everyone
and get some rest for some of the team as we enter a very difficult week
with games on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.”
Trojan Nick Barango got things going early for Chesterton as he took a pass
from Cole Gordon across the box for a 1-0 lead. Barango scored again before
halftime off a pass from Billy Biehl on the far post.
The Trojans’ final goal of the game came off a shot from Kyle Kogler from
just inside the 18 after a pass from Jason Garmany.
Caleb Gmyrek recorded three saves in picking up his third shutout of the
year.
