The No. 2 ranked
Chesterton boys soccer team found that out Wednesday night, but came away
with a 5-1 Duneland Athletic Conference victory at Merrillville.
“We were very
direct on a small field,” Chesterton coach Lucas Sabedra said. “We were
constantly turning the ball over to their back line and keeper.”

The game would stay
scoreless until Nathan Arthur took a cross from Robbie Murphy and put it in
the lower corner for a 2-1 lead. Kaden Donella assisted Bowser on his second
goal of the night for a 3-1 lead.
“We started playing
like ourselves and played quicker in the second half,” Sabedra said. “We
were less direct and quicker with our build-up through the midfield.”
Seth Conway scored
the other two goals for the Trojans and had an assist, while Bowser and
Robbie Capehart also dished out helpers.

Assists were handed
out by Kruper 92), Oros, Rone, Matteo Guerrero and Benicio Alvarez.
Ethan Boedeker and
Quentin Krygier combined for five saves in the shutout.
