Trojan basketball team falls twice in Noblesville

The Chesterton boys basketball team dropped a pair of decisions on the first day of the Noblesville Holiday Tournament on Tuesday.

The Trojans fell 63-57 in overtime in the opener to Noblesville as freshman Jake Wadding scored a game-high 24 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Ray Yagelski (12 points), Erik Ralph (7 points), Austin Peterson (5 points), Tyler Nelson (5 points), Ky Palombizio (3 points) and Brayden Cartwright (1 point).

In the nightcap, Chesterton jumped out to a 21-15 first quarter lead, but couldn’t hold on and fell 71-62 to Columbus East.

Peterson led the Trojan offense with 22 points and Palombizio added 10 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Yagelski (7 points), Nelson (7 points), Wadding (6 points), Harley Lohmeyer (3 points), Jack Eaton (3 points), Ralph (2 points) and Brayden Cartwright (2 points).

The Trojans finish play in the two-day tournament today.
