The Chesterton baseball team ran its winning streak to three straight with a
12-1 victory at Merrillville on Monday.
The Trojans scored three runs in the second, fifth, sixth and seventh
innings to provide more than enough offense for starting pitcher Jordan
Peterson. Peterson allowed just four hits and struck out nine in getting the
win.
Offensively, Chesterton was led by Justin Jenks with two hits and three runs
scored. Peterson (2 RBI), Alex Olson (3 RBI) and Scott Homner (3 RBI) all
had a hit in the win.

The Chesterton junior varsity pounded out 13 hits in getting an easy
Duneland Athletic Conference victory at Merrillville on Monday 14-0.
Aery Pratt and Josh Ingram each had a pair of hits for the Trojans, while
Nate Crownover and Kevin Jones added a double. Corey Rusboldt had a pair of
RBI’s.
Cole Teal picked up the win on the mound by allowing just one hit and
striking out five.
The Trojans are now 7-1 overall and 5-1 in DAC play.
