Chesterton’s starting pitching has carried them to a solid
start to the season, but Tuesday night Portage had an answer.
The Indians pounded out 10 hits and took advantage of nine
walks in picking up a 10-0 Duneland Athletic Conference victory.
Leading 1-0 heading into the fourth inning, the Indians
exploded for four runs and chased Trojan starter Jake Post. A three-run
double off the bat of Gabe Acevedo to straight away centerfield was the big
blow.
Chesterton never got the bats going to make a comeback as
Zach Jenks was the only Trojan to get a hit (two singles).
