Chesterton boys soccer team improved to 10-0-2 on the year and 5-0 in
Duneland Athletic Conference play with a 2-1 victory at No. 20 Lake Central
on Wednesday night.
“That’s a really
good, young LC team,” Chesterton coach Lucas Sabedra said. “They’re going to
be great for a few years.”
LC scored the
game’s first goal just eight minutes into the game on a shot from Rob
MacNeill. Seth Conway sent the game to halftime tied at 1-1 with a goal on a
free kick from 19 yards away with just over 13 minutes left in the half.
Conway got free
again with just over 10 minutes left in the game on a ball from Zack Bowser,
but was turned away one-on-one by the Indians’ goalkeeper Adrian Orciuch.
The ball bounced
out to Joey Stark about 40 yards from goal, but Stark didn’t mind and
chipped the ball over Orciuch for the game-winner.

Central on Wednesday.
Kaden Donella and
Josh Wadowski both scored two goals for the Trojans, while David Jugovic
(2), Gage Kruper and Matteo Guerrero handed out assists.

Quintin Krygier combined in goal for the shutout as CHS improved to 9-1
