Mitch Davis sets school record in Trojans golf win

Mitch Davis had it going.

Davis and the Chesterton boys golf team fired a 153 to beat Lake Central (175) and Crown Point (176) at Palmira Golf Course on Wednesday.

Davis birdied two of his first three holes and made four birdies all together to go along with an eagle on 17 to take medalist honors with a 5-under-par 32.

Itís also a CHS school record.

Devin Trusty (39), Cade Lewandowski (39), Eli Winski (43) and Cameron Schultz (50) rounded out the scoring for the Trojans.

Chesterton returns to the course on Saturday when they head to the Wawasee Invitational for an 8 a.m. tee time.

The Chesterton junior varsity finished third in a DAC triple dual against Crown Point and Lake Central on Wednesday.

Jackson Kerkes led the Trojans with a 48. Kerkes was followed by Peter Girzadas (51), Jackson Roberts (54) and Max Winski (65).
