The Chesterton boys basketball team finished the game on a 17-0 run to beat Crown Point 47-40 in the 5th place game of the Noblesville Holiday Tournament on Thursday.

“I thought we learned a lot about ourselves in all three games,” Chesterton coach Marc Urban said. “When you play three games in two days, there are a lot of ups and downs and to our kids credit, they kept with it and were able to come away with two wins.”

The Trojans trailed 40-30 with 4:30 to play, but rallied behind 10 fourth quarter points from Jake Wadding. Wadding finished with a team-high 18 points and was named to the All-Tournament team.

Jack Eaton and Ky Palombizio each added seven points in the win, including a 3-pointer from each during the final run.

Rounding out the scoring were Tyler Nelson (6 points), Josh Matthews (4 points), Austin Peterson (3 points) and Noah Mahoney (2 points).

“We’re looking forward to a full week of practice leading into Merrillville next Saturday,” Urban said.

The Trojans travel to face the Pirates in the DAC opener for both teams beginning with the JV game at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
