Jordan Peterson wins Gil Hodges Award

Chesterton High 2011 grad Jordan Peterson, a pitcher, was selected by his teammates as the recipient of the Gil Hodges Award for the 2015 season at St. Joseph’s College in Rennselear.

Peterson’s signature season for the Pumas came in 2013 when he finished 9-2 overall with a 1.92 ERA and 87 strikeouts. Peterson earned Midwest Regional Pitcher of the Year and was a third team All-American selection.

Peterson finished his career as the all-time leader in strikeouts with 266. The total broke the 46-year-old record of Jim O’Laughlin.

Peterson, a three-time first team All-GLVC selection, also finished fifth all-time in ERA (2.41), sixth in wins (19), second in complete games (21), third in innings pitched (272.2), ninth in fewest walks allowed (2.01) and third in games started (38).
