Jake Wadding continues to leave his mark.

Wadding, a 6-5 forward, was named to the Large School All-State team by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association on Thursday.

“This is something that was on my goal list after my freshman year,” Wadding said. “It’s pretty cool to accomplish it.”

A Grace College commit, Wadding averaged 16.7 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game during his senior season as he led the Trojans to a 23-3 record and an outright Duneland Athletic Conference title.

“This speaks volumes as to what coaches in the State feel about Jake,” Chesterton head coach Marc Urban said. “I am really proud of him more for how he represented our community and the program than for anything he did for us on the court.”

Wadding leaves CHS as the school’s all-time rebounding leader and second in total points (Zack Novak).

All IBCA-member head coaches can nominate players. A panel of 20 IBCA coaches, 16 from the current regional area, three district representatives and the committee chairman, review nominations, vote and finalize the selections.

Other selections to the team included Nick Anderson (Lake Central), Brayton Bailey (Bedford North Lawrence), Murray Becher (Heritage Hills), Jerry Bracey (Mishawaka Marian), Dillon Duff (FW Snider), Malek Edmonds (Brownsburg), Will Geiger (Norwell), Maximus Gizzi (New Palestine), Grant Niehaus (Washington), Tayson Parker (Northwestern), Simon Scherry (Heritage Hills), Josh Smith (Monrovia), Kenny Tracy (Decatur Central) and Dillon Ware (Danville).
