Girls Cross Country announces year-end award winners

The CHS girls cross country team announced its fall sports awards winners at its banquet last week.

The Most Valuable Player award went to Bailey Ranta, while other award winners included Liz Hibshman (Mental Attitude), Catherine White (Most Improved), Alyssa Dunlap (Most Consistent), Sophia Arthur (Sportsmanship), Francis Clancy (Leonard Tengblad Memorial Award) and Nalani Malackowski (Larry James Award).

Letterwinners for the Trojans included seniors Arthur, Clancy, Malackowski, Mallory Morrison, Justyne Phillips, Payton Shideler and Katelyn Van Kley. Junior letterwinners were Emma Brown, Alissa Capehart, Bree Gentry, McKenna Handley, Hibshman, Addison Leady, Ranta, Bella Smith and White.

Sophomore letterwinners included Grace Carpenter, Rachel Cohen, Dunlap, Olivia Kozak and Chloe Wisniewski. Freshmen letterwinners were Ciara Bonner, Jordan Huneryager, Alex Reed, Ali Sierazy, Sydney Szabo and Madison Trumbo.

Junior Varsity award winners included Maddie Burns (10), Lillian Figolah (9), Kara Haynes (10), Payton Leady (9), Abri Rodriguez (11), Coryn Rodriguez (11) and Madison Wunderlin (11).

Arthur, Clancy, Malackowski and Van Kley served as captains for the Trojans during the 2020 season.
