CHS Wrestling falls to Crown Point

The Chesterton wrestling team fell to 0-2 in Duneland Athletic Conference competition with a 43-29 loss at Crown Point on Wednesday.

Eli Pokorney started the night with a victory by fall for the Trojans at 285 over Michael Foster in 58 seconds, but CP scored the next 24 points with victories in five straight matches.

Stephan Biancardi and Kevin Mochen sandwiched fall victories for Chesterton around a Bulldog win. Biancardi beat Caden Rice in 3:41 at 138, while Mochen beat Skylar McClure in 3:36 at 152 pounds.

Three more victories from Crown Point ended with a Lucas Davison tech fall win over Kyle Ramus (18-2) at 195 pounds. Andrew Davison finished the night with a fall over Jacob Jennings (3:38) at 220 pounds.

The Trojans return to the mat next Wednesday when they travel to Merrillville. The first match is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start.

The Chesterton junior varsity wrestling team fell 48-6 to Crown Point.

The winners for the Trojans were Ryne Beckman by fall in 1:01 at 152 pounds and Tristan Martin by forfeit at 126 pounds.
