The Chesterton wrestling team dominated the Hobart Fieldhouse on Saturday as they went 5-0 to win the Hobart Super Duals.

”It seems that we keep performing better and better as a team each time we go onto the mat,” Chesterton coach Chris Joll said.

The Trojans started the day with a 62-18 Duneland Athletic Conference victory over Lake Central and then followed that with wins over Knox (72-6), Hammond Gavit (71-9), Goshen (63-12) and the host Brickies (59-15).

Undefeated wrestlers for Chesterton on the day included Hayden DeMarco (113, 120), Sergio Lemley (126), Aidan Torres (132), Ethan Conterars (138), Ethan Kaiser (145), Brock Ellis (152), Brandon Bolin (160), Gavin Layman (182, 195), Gage DeMarco (195, 220) and Evan Bates (220, 285).

“Ten kids out of our 12 weight classes were 5-0 today and one more that had only one loss,” Joll said. “They continue to wrestle for each other and grind out wins. There is no ‘I’ in this group, just ‘us’.”
