CHS Volleyball sweeps Morton

The Chesterton volleyball team started its season with a 25-11, 25-10, 25-10 victory over Hammond Morton on Tuesday.

Offensively, Taylor Bowser led the Trojans with six kills, while Ariel Rohe added five kills. Also tallying kills were Caroline Parks (2), Maddie Wagner (2), Sydney Baltus (2), Emma Ekblaw (1), McKenna Guernsey (1) and Meghan Gaffigan (1).

Maggie Vrahoretis dished out 16 assists in the victory.

On the service line, Lorann Lombardini and Vrahoretis led the way with three aces. Parks, Maris Robinson, Sammy Devereaux and Baltus all tallied two aces.

The Trojans return to the court on Thursday when they travel to Munster. The JV match is slated for a 5 p.m. start.
