CHS Volleyball sweeps Michigan City

The Chesterton volleyball team improved to 15-10 overall and 6-6 in Duneland Athletic Conference play with a 25-15, 25-20, 25-18 victory over Michigan City on Tuesday.

Offensively, the Trojans were led by Emily Marcus with six kills, while Aubrey Nagdeman and Sammi Ostrom each had five kills. Brittany Milzarek had three kills on the night.

Kennedy Baltus and Nagdeman each dished out 10 assists.

Defensively, Marcus had a team-best 12 digs and Jordyn Moleski had 11 digs. Baltus also added five digs. Moleski also added a team-high four service aces.

At the net, Sammi Ostrom had three block kills, while Sara Tarnowski, Milzarek and Nagdeman all had two block kills.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 25-25,

Michigan City 15-9

The Chesterton junior varsity picked up a 25-15, 25-9 win against Michigan City.

Offensively, Haley Notzen had seven kills and Kaitlin Kuypers had five kills. Lia Lombardini and Abby Moon each had two kills.

Caitlyn Toth dished out a team-high 17 assists.

Defensively, Kuypers had 10 digs with Marcus adding four. Lombardini had three digs to go along with a block kill.

On the service line, Marcus had five aces with Kuypers adding three.


Chesterton 25-25,

Michigan City 24-16

The Chesterton freshmen secured a 25-24, 25-16 win over Michigan City.

Offensively, Hayley McBride, Hannah Mix and Maddie Jones all had three kills. Taylor Cruz and Morgan Fulayter each had two kills.

Jones dished out eight assists to lead the Trojans.

On the service line, Mix had six aces, while Fulayter had three. Cruz added two aces in the win.
