CHS volleyball beats Hobart

The Chesterton volleyball team battled all the way back from a two-game deficit and beat Hobart 19-25, 21-25, 30-28, 25-12, 16-14 on Monday night.

Offensively, Ginger Hedrick led the way with 23 kills and Taylor Bowser added 10 kills. Caroline Parks recorded five kills, while Maggie Vrahoretis and Ariel Rohe each tallied four kills.

Ella Whitmore dished out a team-high 14 assists and Vrahoretis had 12 assists. Olivia Smilgius had seven helpers.

Defensively, Bowser had 20 digs and Sammy Devereaux recorded 15 digs in the victory. Vrahoretis and Whitmore each had nine digs with Tessa Tilden adding five digs.

On the serving line, Rohe had four aces and Hedrick had five blocks to lead the charge at the net. Parks added three blocks.

The Trojans return to the court tonight when they head to Crown Point to face the Bulldogs. The JV game is set for 5 p.m.
