Even in a season
that didnít happen, Chesterton High senior Tyler Nelson is receiving
Nelson was one of
23 players named as an Indiana Pre-Season All-American by the National High
School Baseball Coaches Association.
ďItís too bad the
season ended before he could show everyone his skills,Ē Chesterton head
coach Jack Campbell said. ďGreat athlete. Great student. He has such a high
upside, there is no telling where his ceiling is.Ē
As a junior last
year, Nelson hit .359 with five doubles, two triples and 10 RBIís. He was
also 16-of-18 in stolen bases.
For his career, the
Indiana State commit has a .344 batting average with seven doubles, two
triples, 22 RBIís and 37 stolen bases.
