CHS Tennis falls at Michigan City

The Chesterton girls tennis team dropped a 3-2 Duneland Athletic Conference decision at Michigan City on Thursday.

In singles, Abby Burke was the lone winner for the Trojans at No. 2 over Dayna Pedzinski 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. In doubles, Ellen Kerr and Natalie Petro won at No. 1 against Kristen Palmer and Paige Cuma 6-3, 6-2.

Singles - 1. Megan Methner (MC) def. JJ Lee 6-1, 6-2; 2. Abby Burke def. Dayna Pedzinski 4-6, 6-3, 6-2; 3. Kathi Jaschinsky (MC) def. Kathryn Ausema 7-5, 6-2.

Doubles - 1. Ellen Kerr/Natalie Petro def. Kristen Palmer/Paige Cuma 6-3, 6-2; 2. Claire Werner/Claire Hirsch (MC) def. Andie Kovach/Logan Haussman 6-4, 6-2.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 7, Michigan City 1

The Chesterton junior varsity had little trouble in picking up a 7-1 victory against Michigan City.

In singles, winners included Oliva White (No. 1), Whitney Valtierra (No. 2) and Rachel Vogie (No. 3).

In doubles, victorious duos included Megan Homme/Kayla Malackowski, Tara Schnadenberg/Anna Jones, Victoria Hooten/Hannah Kish and Amanda Slivka/Ashley Fazekas.
