The Chesterton girls tennis team fell for the first time in Duneland Athletic Conference play after dropping a 3-2 decision to LaPorte on Tuesday.

The lone victory in singles for the Trojans came at No. 1 where Hannah Nabhan fought off four match points to beat Alaina Majors 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4).

“I was so proud of Hannah after watching her fight off four match points in the third set and being down 3-0 in the tiebreaker,” Chesterton coach Tom Bour said. “The amount of mental toughness that requires is huge. I hope she can build on this win.”

In doubles, the No. 1 team of Kara Maggio and Eliza Tumbas handled Maddy Fleshmen and Maddy Nunn 6-2, 6-0.

The Trojans return to the court tonight when they host Andrean beginning at 4:30 p.m.
