The Chesterton girls tennis team did just enough on Wednesday night to pull
out a 3-2 Duneland Athletic Conference victory at Valparaiso.
In singles, Bobbi Modesto and Margaret Shinn cruised to easy victories.
Modesto dropped Kelly Kennedy at No. 1 6-0, 6-0, while Shinn lost just one
game in a win over Kaitlin Kennedy 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2.
The match came down to No. 2 doubles where Chesterton’s Amanda Susnak and
Brittny Stephan outlasted Lauren Hoffman and Sonja Schaffer 6-4, 6-4.
“The No. 2 doubles team really came through with a huge victory for us,”
Chesterton coach Gretchen Shinn said.
