The Chesterton girls tennis team improved to 5-0 in Duneland Athletic Conference play with a 4-1 victory at Lake Central on Thursday.

“We got a solid performance from the entire team tonight,” Chesterton coach Gretchen Shinn said.

Bobbi Modesto and Margaret Shinn continued their stellar play in singles with 6-0, 6-0 victories. At No. 1, Modesto beat Bre Falcone and Shinn beat Emma Harowski at No. 2.

J.J. Lee completed the singles sweep with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Angela Gerlach.

In doubles, Sunny Lee and Rachel McCrum outlasted Lauren Ashenbrener and Anna Weber 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 at No. 1 for the final CHS team point.
