The Chesterton boys swim team set themselves up for a 21st consecutive IHSAA Sectional title on Thursday night.

The Trojans will have the top seed in 10 events on Saturday when the Sectional Finals and tickets to the IHSAA State Finals begin at 1 p.m. at CHS. The Diving prelims are scheduled for 9 a.m. on Saturday.

We had a solid night, Chesterton coach Kevin Kinel said. Weve set ourselves up to win the Sectional and get kids down to State. That was the goal.

Chesterton holds the top three qualifying spots in several events including the 200 Free with the trio of Andrew Alders, Gabe Kroeger and Jordan Killosky. Along with Evan Dildine, Danny Schmiegel and Bryce Jones in the 100 Breaststroke.

Also qualifying 1-2-3 were Lucas Piunti, Declan Tharp and Alejandro Kincaid in the 200 IM and Killosky, Gabe Eschbach and Eric Carlson in the 500 Free.

Other top qualifiers for the Trojans were Ethan Wing in the 50 Free and 100 Free, Piunti in the 100 Back, the 200 Medley Relay, the 200 Free Relay and the 400 Free Relay.

Well have to be ready to go on Saturday, Kinel said. Its always a fast, competitive Sectional and will be again.
