CHS swimmers pick up National Plaques with record setting races

The Chesterton boys swim team not only won its second straight state title, but dominated the nation as well.

The Trojans received plaques for setting the National Public School Record in three events recently.

Aaron Whitaker, who will attend Michigan in the fall, set the 100 Fly record (46.31), while also teamming with Jack Wallar, Blake Pieroni and Gary Kostbade in the 200 Medley Relay (1:29.64). Wallar and Pieroni will attend Indiana University in the fall.

Whitaker and Pieroni also teamed with Patrick Curley and Ethan Whitaker to set the 400 Free Relay record (2:59.36). Ethan Whitaker will attend the U.S. Naval Academy in the fall.
