Back To Front Page

The Chesterton softball team scored early and often en route to an 8-3 Duneland Athletic Conference victory over Michigan City.

The Trojans jumped on top right away in the top of the first. Mallory McKee singled and Bailey Slivka reached on an error. Bohnertís two-out home run gave Chesterton a 3-0 lead.

CHS scored two more in the second as Sierra LaFreniere started things with a two-out single and scored on Sarah Richardsí double. Richards scored on a single by Alexa Olson.

Chesterton added solo runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to set the final score.

Offensively, Olson and LaFreniere each had three hits as the Trojans pounded out 12 on the night.

Cooley worked all seven innings in the circle and struck out eight in garnering the win.
