The Trojans opened the scoring in the third with a five-run outburst that
started with a Shelby Carter single and a two-run home run from Megan
Tymorek. Sammie Howard and Megan Matheny followed with singles.
Sydney Cooley’s double plated Howard and Matheny scored on Mallory McKee’s

The Trojans added another run in the fifth when Matheny doubled, advanced on
a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly from Sarah Richards.
The lead grew to 9-0 in the sixth when Carter singled and stole second. She
scored when Tymorek reached on an error.
Howard and Cooley singled plating courtesy runner Lisette Martinez. Howard
scored on Amanda Dujmovich’s pinch-hit single.
The Vikings mounted a rally against Tymorek with five runs in the sixth
inning thanks in part to five hits, an error and a wild pitch.
“Megan lost some control and concentration in the sixth,” Hopson said. “We
got out of it finally. She recovered for the seventh.”
Chesterton finished the scoring in the seventh when Jordan Wadding walked
and Sierra LaFreniere singled. Wadding scored on Tymorek’s single.
The Trojans return to the field on Friday when they host Portage beginning
at 4:30 p.m.

Jessica Stacy pitched 6 innings for the Trojans with 1 strikeout and 4
The Trojans struggled to get going offensively. Alexis King walked to start
the 7th. Abby Brown hit a triple to score Breanna Jaeger. The Trojans fell
just short of scoring the tying run.
The Trojans play again Friday night at home against Portage.
