Solo runs in the fourth and sixth innings proved to be the difference as the
Chesterton softball team dropped a 2-1 Duneland Athletic Conference decision
at Lake Central on Wednesday.
“I thought the last time we played them, we played poorly but managed to
stay in the game,” Chesterton coach LouAnn Hopson said. “Tonight, I thought
we played well enough to win. I’m pleased with the effort, but obviously
disappointed in the loss.”
The Trojans opened up the scoring in the second inning when Ryan Bozak lead
off with a single. Megan Tymorek moved her to second on a sacrifice bunt and
Jaren Lynch’s RBI single made the score 1-0.
Lake Central tied the game in the fourth when they took advantage of an
error before scoring the game-winner in the sixth.
