CHS Gymnasts beat Crown Point

The Chesterton gymnastics team made it 2-0 in Duneland Athletic Conference competition with a 109.75-107.10 victory at Crown Point on Tuesday.

Freshman Sophie Hunzelman dominated the competition by winning all four individual events and the All-Around (37.875). Hunzelmanís scores included 9.25 on Vault, 9.55 on Bars, 9.55 on Beam and 9.525 on Floor.

Chestertonís Jordan Bush finished third in the All-Around (36.30), while finishing second on Vault (9.15), third on Beam (9.2) and third on Floor (9.30).

The Trojans return to competition on Thursday when they travel to Lowell to compete against the Red Devils and New Prairie beginning at 6 p.m.

The Chesterton junior varsity picked up a 100.725-97.40 victory at Crown Point on Tuesday.

Event winners for the Trojans were Kirsten Wozniak in the Vault (8.6), Alyssa Donovan in the Bars (8.5) and Jamie Stento on the Beam (8.95).
