The Chesterton boys golf team finished sixth overall on Saturday at the
Wawasee Invitational at South Shore Golf Club with a 333 team score.
“It was cold, nasty and rainy,” Chesterton coach Kent Butler said. “We had
to wait through a delay in the morning because of sleet and hail on the
greens.”
Warsaw took top honors with a 308, followed by Northwood (316), Homestead
(322), Northridge (327) and Fairfield (331) in the top five.
Austin Johnson fired a 78 to lead the Trojans, while Brandon Martin followed
with a 79. Evan Zondor shot 86 with Jay Crots shooting 90. Logan Krantz
rounded out the scoring with a 92.
Chesterton returns to the course on Tuesday when they travel to Crown Point
to

Invitational
The Chesterton junior varsity finished second in the seven-team Valparaiso
Invitational at Forest Park on Saturday.
Lake Central and the Trojans both shot 339 as a team, but the Indians won
the title on the fifth man score. Penn (344) was third, followed by
Valparaiso (352), West Lafayette (357), Munster (366) and Kokomo (479).
Zach Von Huben led the way for Chesterton with an 82, while Zach Bogich
(85), John Kelley (86), Scott Chemma (86) followed.
