CHS Girls win 76-36 at Bowman Academy

The Chesterton girls basketball team improved to 4-0 on the season with an easy 76-36 victory at Bowman Academy on Tuesday night.

The Trojans outscored the Eagles 21-1 from the foul line and held Bowman to just 16-of-49 shooting (33 percent) from the field.

The Chesterton offense was led by Shannon McCoy with 27 points, while Hailey Vale scored 19 points. Vale was 6-of-6 from the field and 7-of-7 from the foul line.

Rounding out the scoring were Sarah Dzierba (12 points), Brittany Privett (5 points), Annika Babcock (4 points), Sydney Sisson (4 points), Jenna Tarnowski (3 points) and Maddie Scott (2 points).

The Trojans were 24-of-56 (43 percent) from the field, including 7-of-16 (44 percent) from 3-point range.

Chesterton returns to the court on Friday night when they travel to South Central. The junior varsity game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tip.

The Chesterton junior varsity built a 21-4 lead after one quarter and cruised to a 57-25 victory over Bowman Academy on Tuesday night.

Molly Slatcoff and Annika Babcock led the Trojans with 13 points each, while Haley Moore added 10 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Ashley Craycraft (7 points), Marney Sisson (6 points), Evelynn Pabon (4 points), Grace O’Dell (2 points) and Nikki Arndt (2 points).
