CHS Girls Tennis drops opener

The Chesterton girls tennis team dropped a 3-2 season-opening decision at Plymouth on Thursday night.

Hannah Nabhan rolled to a victory at No. 1 singles for the Trojans with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Corti Cook.

Olivia Vesling also picked up a come-from-behind victory with a 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 over Kyla Heckaman at No. 2 singles.

The Trojans will return to action on Saturday when they travel to the East Noble Tournament.

Singles -- 1. Hannah Nabhan def. Corti Cook 6-1, 6-2; 2. Olivia Vesling def. Kyla Heckaman 4-6, 7-5, 7-5; 3. Miranda German (P) def. Paige Donovan 6-3, 6-1.

Doubles -- 1. McKenzie Sheetz/Leah Smith (P) def. Eliza Tumbas/Kara Maggio 6-3, 6-2; 2. Mary Beatty/Audie Plothow (P) def. Ashley Roof/Megan Hill 6-2, 6-2.

Record: Chesterton 0-1.

JV Score: Chesterton 12, Plymouth 0.
