CHS Girls Tennis beats Highland

Back To Front Page

Without getting a point from their top two players, the Chesterton girls tennis picked up an impressive 3-2 victory over Highland on Tuesday.

“It’s been at least five years since we beat Highland,” Chesterton coach Gretchen Shinn said. “Our girls really did a great job of picking up their play because we knew Meg and Margaret would have their hands full with the Madrigal twins.”

The Trojans lone point in singles came from JJ Lee with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Manasi Anya at No. 3.

In doubles, Chesterton didn’t drop a set with a win from Rachel McCrum and Ellen Kerr at No. 1 (6-3, 6-0) and a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) win from Natalie Petro and Abby Burke.

The Trojans return to the court on Saturday when they travel to the Plymouth Invitational.
