The Chesterton girls swim team set themselves up for a 14th consecutive
Sectional Championship on Thursday night by taking the top seed in nine
events at the IHSAA Sectional prelims.
The Trojans’ Julia Campbell and Kate Curley will both be the number one
seeds in two events. Campbell took top honors in the 200 Free (1:55.7) and
the 500 Free (5:06.14), while Curley leads the 200 IM (2:08.9) and the 100
Back (1:00.13).
Vanessa Krause set the lone Sectional record on Thursday with a 56.25 time
in the 100 Fly on her way to taking two top seeds as well (50 Free, 24.17).
The Finals will be held on Saturday at CHS with Diving commencing at 9 a.m.
The swimming finals will begin at 1 p.m.
