CHS Girls Soccer beats Lake Central

The Chesterton girls soccer team scored four first half goals and cruised to a 4-2 Duneland Athletic Conference victory over Lake Central on Tuesday.

Bridget Brendza put the Trojans on the board first off a pass from Claudia Krygier. Krygier then found Desiree Bell for a 2-0 lead.

Brendza scored again and then dished out an assist to Savannah Watson to set the final score.

Anne Marie Radzik recorded eight saves in the victory.

Chesterton 4, Lake Central 2


Chesterton -- Bridget Brendza 2 goals, 1 assist; Desiree Bell 1 goal; Claudia Krygier 2 assists; Savannah Watson 1 goal; Anne Marie Radzik 8 saves.

Record -- Chesterton 8-1-2.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 3, Lake Central 1

Trailing 1-0 early, the Chesterton junior varsity scored three second half goals for a 3-1 victory over Lake Central on Tuesday.

An LC own goal tied the score at 1-1 before Sammie Campaniello and Maggie Brown found the back of the net for the Trojans.

Haley Ochoa and Marissa Sullivan combined for three saves in goal.
