CHS Girls Soccer beats Lake Central

The Chesterton girls soccer team improved to 9-2 overall and 5-0 in Duneland Athletic Conference play with a 3-2 victory at Lake Central on Tuesday.

Kaylee Lindahl carried the torch for the Trojans offensively. After the Indians took a 1-0 lead just 28 seconds into the match, Lindahl scored less than five minutes later.

Lindahlís second goal of the game gave Chesterton its first lead with 36:21 left in the game, but Lake Central answered 10 minutes later to tie the game at 2-2.

Lindahlís hat trick goal gave the Trojans the 3-2 win with 11:34 left to play.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 2, Lake Central 0

The Chesterton junior varsity continued its winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Lake Central.

Jenna Wadding scored the Trojansí first goal on a penalty kick after Mallory Babcock was taken down in front of the goal.

Carly Perkins set the final score with a goal in the final minutes of regulation.

Solid efforts for the Trojans came from Molly Grimes, Maggie Brown, Katelyn Owens, Amber Heilman, Bailey Martinson, Maddi Calloway, Natasha Woodard, Malloy Benoit and Zoey Vandervinne.

The goalie trio of Becca Colvert, Christine Jackson and Molly McLaughlin have yet to allow a goal this season.
