The Chesterton girls basketball team fell behind double digits in the first
quarter and never challenged Michigan City in dropping a 73-41 decision on
Friday night.
The Trojans got a career-high 11 points from Haley Sekula on 5-of-8 shooting
from the floor, while Caroline Puntillo added nine points.
Kelsey Conway scored five points with Kassidy Scott scoring four points.
Sarah Richards and Hannah McCafferty each tallied three points.
Rounding out the scoring with two points each were McKenzie Sullivan, Kelly
Braun and Jocelyn Lipscomb.
Chesterton returns to the court on Tuesday when they travel to Andrean for a
non-conference game. The JV game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. tipoff.

The Chesterton junior varsity girls basketball team trailed 12-1 after one
quarter of play, but dominated the final three frames in picking up a 34-19
victory over Michigan City on Friday night.
Kayla Malackowski and Lia Lombardini each scored eight points to lead the
Trojan offense, while Jordan Wadding added seven points.
McKenzie Sullivan tallied five points with Lauren Kusbel scoring four
points. Xaundra Rodriguez rounded out the scoring with two points.
