CHS Girls blank LaPorte 12-0

The Chesterton girls soccer team finished the regular season with a 12-0 Duneland Athletic Conference victory over LaPorte on Tuesday night.

“This was a game we could get a lot of kids a lot of minutes,” Chesterton coach Ben Forgey said. “We played at a very high level with basically two separate groups splitting each half. I was very pleased we didn’t drop the level of play at all.”

Addy Joiner led the offense with three goals, while Tia Seerup and Annalisa Hackett each recorded two goals. Other goal scorers were Grace Bamber, Sydney Stott, Nikki Groceman, Sophie DeRuntz and Olivia Virgil.

Stott dished out a team-best three assists with Gina Geenen, Emma Vetroczky, Ali Drewes, Hackett and Ella Keane also handed out helpers.

Carley Balas worked the first half in goal before giving way to Addyson Arndt and Emma Pape in the second half.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 8, LaPorte 0

The Chesterton junior varsity beat LaPorte 8-0 on Tuesday.

Goals scorers for the Trojans were Emma Skalka (2), Tia Seerup (2), Olivia Montes, Addysun Arndt, Ally Balcerak and Kassidy Miller.

Assists were dished out by Hannah Crews (2), Olivia Virgil, Abigail Dennington, Molly Hadenfelt, Ava Komp and Lilly Sensibaugh.

Arndt, Dennington, Emma Pape and Madison Davis combined in goal for the victory.
