CHS Girls beat Andrean in regular season finale

The Chesterton girls basketball team finished its regular season with a 42-36 victory over Andrean on Friday night.

The difference in the game came at the foul line where the Trojans hit on 15-of-18 (83 percent) from the charity stripe, while outscoring the 59ers 15-4.

Ashley Craycraft led Chesterton in scoring with 17 points, while Nalani Malackowski added 12 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Carley Balas (9 points) and Emma Schmidt (4 points).

The Trojans open IHSAA Sectional play on Tuesday night at Portage against Lowell. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 42, Andrean 21

The Chesterton junior varsity finished its season with a 42-21 victory over Andrean on Friday night.

Mannat Singh led the Trojans with 10 points, while Emily Richardson added nine points and Liz Pokorney had eight points.

Rounding out the scoring were Layla Ferguson (4 points), Madison Davis (4 points), Chloe Wisniewski (3 points), Amani Brown (2 points) and Abi Drew (2 points).

The Trojans finished the season 16-6 overall.
